Both Nestle SA of Switzerland and Sony Electronics of Japan are believed to be in the running to receive IC9900 status. As reported by Bizwire on Monday, the two companies are currently being evaluated.
IC9900 is one of the most prestigious accolades a company can gain, and covers a diverse number of areas, including evaluation of the company's ethical and governance measures.
The International Charter, which regulated the IC9900 process, had no comment pending a later announcement.
If successful both companies are expected to announce this in June at the earliest.
